(Bangkok Post file photo)Agencies under the Transport Ministry will roll out a safety audit plan (SAP) to hold building projects to a higher set of rules and regulations in the wake of a fatal accident over the weekend during the construction of the Red Line rail route. At present, only builders and consultant firms are required to conduct SAPs but not the relevant department that is behind the project. "Although we have had consultant firms monitor safety [at construction sites], it's still not enough," Mr Arkhom said. Mr Arkhom also gave the Red Line construction company, Italian-Thai Development Plc (Italthai), a week to come up with a plan to prevent a recurrence of Friday's incident.
